The consortium's Design and Construction Contractor, comprising Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction, and China Construction Oceania, will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges.
The Central Package, delivered as a Public Private Partnership, includes three-lane twin tunnels that will connect the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles from local roads.
Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link daily, easing congestion and supporting local traffic.
About the Opportunity: The MEI Project Manager (PM) and Construction Manager (CM) roles are crucial for delivering North East Link's Mechanical, Electrical, and ITS (MEI) scope.
These roles require strong leadership and engineering expertise in tunnel MEI systems.
The responsibilities include coordinating teams and stakeholders, managing technical aspects, ensuring compliance with standards and designs, and overseeing all project stages from planning to handover.
Key Responsibilities: Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of multidisciplinary mechanical projects, defining scopes and objectives aligned with strategic priorities.
Oversee project phases, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery, coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Mentor and develop engineering teams, fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
Manage communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulators to build strong relationships.
Implement digital delivery practices and ensure consistent use of digital tools across teams.
Ensure quality and compliance through robust controls, inspections, and adherence to contractual and regulatory standards.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing effective risk management plans.
Manage project finances, including estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenditures.
Document project activities, decisions, lessons learned, and report on progress, risks, and performance.
Lead project close-out activities, including testing, commissioning, and preparing handover documentation.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with professional registration or equivalent.
Over 10 years (PM) and 15 years (CM) of experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and electrical systems in tunnel and urban infrastructure.
Proven leadership and project management skills, with successful team leadership experience.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Strategic, innovative, and adaptable problem-solver.
Experience with sustainability and environmental compliance, committed to green solutions.
