The West Coast Language Development Centre (LDC) is a specialist school that provides early intervention for children in Kindergarten to Year 2 with Developmental Language Disorder.
We are looking for Educations Assistants that are passionate about supporting young children with language difficulties.
Education experience is highly advantageous and experience in the early years or an Education Support setting would be ideal.
The West Coast LDC caters for around 300 students from Kindergarten to Year 2.
We are situated across four sites in Padbury, Hamersley, Heathridge and Quinns Rocks.
Education Assistants may be located at any site and may move across sites over time.
The Role
Education Assistants at West Coast LDC will ideally have a high-level capacity to achieve outcomes through working with and managing students in small groups, one-on-one and by assisting the teacher with whole class activities.
Our school fosters a collaborative culture, where staff actively work together with a team approach.
Education Assistant - Special Needs would demonstrate strong organisation skills, effective communication both verbally and written, take initiative to contribute ideas, and support school direction in achieving shared goals for student outcomes.

A CV of up to three (3) pages outlining your employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position
A three (3) page statement addressing the following selection criteria as outlined in the attached JDF
Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills, including report writing and the ability to effectively interact with students with special needs, and liaise with parents, teachers and community members and assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to a professional team and provide advice and evaluation in the development of the education program, including special education and therapy programs where they have been implemented.
Demonstrated ability to assist professionals in the implementation and evaluation of education programs, including special education and, if required, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students
