About the OPPORTUNITY –We have a great opportunity for a Site Delivery Manager – Remote Site Operations Management to join the JORN (Jindalee Operational Radar Network) Sustainment team.
This role will be based in Adelaide at DSTG site in Edinburgh.
You will be reporting to the Sustainment Operations Manager.
Please note, this role will require a minimum of 2 work trips per year to each of the 3 remote operational sites, approximately 6 weeks total.
This role will see you managing a remote (and Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO)) team to support the maintenance of the radar sites spread across the country.
Your critical leadership, strategic thinking and safety commitment for your team, site and operation will be important for success in this role.
Ideally, you will have experience in a defence maintenance role, alternatively, experience working across maintenance in a leadership role where remote sites are present.
This role will see you: Overall management of Radar sites to ensure the execution of remote site maintenance, Radar upgrades, project deliverables, and operations across all remote sites with day-to-day operational demands, ensuring that the delivery of all Remote Site Services are compliant with BAE Systems Australia Quality, Safety, Environmental and Technical requirements Oversee a Team of approximately 70 staff through 5 direct reports Monitoring and reporting on the performance of site operations to the Operations Manager, including KPIs, project performance reporting (MPU), and continuous improvement initiatives Establish and maintain a high performing safety culture across the Remote Sites Supporting the Operations Manager to ensure effective delivery and maintenance to the JORN capability Acting as the primary interface for site operations, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to communicate operational status as requested, progress on projects or integrations, and ensuring stakeholder expectations are met or exceeded The role will closely interface with the Facilities Contract Manager to ensure Facilities Maintenance through the IFM contractor is carried out to the required schedule, minimising impacts to site operations and staff We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
About YOUCertificate IV or diploma in Front Line Management, Project Management, or equivalent is mandatory for the role Extensive experience in operations management, preferably within a technical or engineering environment, with a proven track record of successful site and team management Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team, ensuring high levels of performance and team cohesion Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems, quality standards, and compliance requirements relevant to site operations Excellent communication skills to work with a diverse range of stakeholders Ability to adapt to changing operational demands and prioritise tasks to meet project deadlines and operational goals Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to provide strategic direction for the team and business unit A current NV1 Clearance or eligibility to obtain We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
