We're seeking a commercially focused and operationally savvy Commercial Finance Manager – Operations to partner with senior leadership in driving profitability, strengthening commercial frameworks, and delivering actionable financial insights across the Return-It network.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for improving margin performance, eliminating contract leakage, and shaping investment decisions that support growth and operational efficiency.
You'll play a central role in bridging finance and operations, enabling the business to make informed, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
About the role: Lead the budget process for Return-It, aligning with Group timelines while providing clear operational and financial insights.
Partner with the CEO and COO to identify and quantify business improvement opportunities and implement commercial strategies.
Review and assess contracts to identify profit leakage, improve delivery outcomes, and support pricing and negotiation strategies.
Provide financial modelling for capital investments, business cases, and strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with operational and procurement teams to identify and implement cost optimisation initiatives.
Support risk management, compliance, and financial reporting requirements in line with regulatory standards.
Work closely with Group Finance and Shared Services to streamline reporting and standardise processes.
Deliver reporting and insights that influence decisions and enhance operational and financial performance.
Promote financial literacy across the organisation through active coaching and support of non-finance stakeholders.
About you: CA or CPA qualified, with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in a senior commercial finance role, preferably in recycling, retail, FMCG, logistics or a similar operational environment.
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering improved profitability and financial outcomes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in financial modelling and performance reporting.
Understanding of contract management and commercial risk assessment.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with TM1 or similar BI tools highly regarded.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and support stakeholders at all levels.
