Kestrel Coal Resources produces steel making coal from its long life mine in Queensland's Bowen Basin.
The company was formed in 2018 and is a joint venture between EMR Capital and Adaro Energy (combined 80% shareholding) and Mitsui Coal (20%).
The company is known for its low-cost operations and highly engaged and committed workforce.
The shareholders have made important capital investments to ensure ongoing efficiency at site and as a foundation for increased production.
This is a critical position in the leadership team.
Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the finance function to support sustainable growth, cost discipline, and operational performance.
This will also extend to include strong financial governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, project and debt finance.
A key expectation of the CFO is to ensure constructive collaboration and engagement with site operations, contributing to commercial decisions beyond finance.
This will also extend to being a strategic adviser to, and strong communicator with, the CEO and shareholders.
You will be a proven CFO or senior finance executive, with your experience acquired in large scale industrial operations or asset-intensive industries, ideally involving a substantial blue-collar workforce.
The role will require you to be a strong collaborator who can bring together the site and corporate teams to ensure business targets are achieved.
This means you will be commercially astute and people and solutions-focused in navigating operational and market challenges.
Regular time on site at the operations will be a requirement.
