This is your opportunity to contribute to our vision of creating:Pathways to better healthfor our North West communities.North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS)Unique locations Friendly communities Regional, rural and remote $$$ incentives Experience working life in a remote and remarkable part of AustraliaWe are currently looking for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Anaesthetist) to join a highly motivated team based at the Mount Isa Hospital to provide anaesthetic services within the North West Hospital and Health Service.This is an opportunity to develop areas of clinical interest to you within anaesthesia (including obstetrics and regional), ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, medical education and wellbeing and support continued improvement of health services by participating in quality improvement opportunities.The Ideal CandidateSkills in epidurals for delivery suite and anaesthsia for obstetrics is required.
Scope of Practice in paediatric anaesthesia (5 years or younger) is desirable.
An interest or experience in Intensive Care management of patients.
An interest in, or experience in, regional anaesthesia and acute and / or chronic pain management.
Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
Current registration with/or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.

(f/t) (L18-L27) Attraction and retention incentive allowance 50% base p.a.
salary Regional and Rural attraction allowance 15% base p.a.
salary Inaccessibility allowance of $34,500 p.a.
Motor vehicle allowance 5 weeks p.a.
annual leave with 17.5% loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation Professional Development allowance Plus we can offer: Accommodation and tax savings through salary packaging options.
Eligible Mount Isa Residents may also be able to access discounts starting from 20% off Qantas return fares from Mount Isa to their eligible city.
Discounted fares for residents | Qantas AU Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate.
VPD risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Tuberculosis.
