About the role The Resilient Sydney Office is looking for a skilled and driven strategy and engagement professional to lead its small team in delivering the new Resilient Sydney Strategy.
The strategy supports Sydney's communities, businesses and systems to survive, adapt and thrive, no matter what challenges come their way.
This senior role leads the Resilient Sydney program, which is hosted by the City of Sydney and delivered in partnership with the 33 councils across Greater Sydney.
You'll also represent Sydney's resilience work at national and international levels.
In this role, you'll:work with councils, government, industry and the community to bring the strategy to lifeinspire and influence a wide range of stakeholders to put resilience thinking into practiceoversee the Resilient Sydney data platform and other tools that support the workprovide expert advice and secure funding for key initiativesbe the main voice for Sydney's resilience efforts in national and global forumslead the Resilient Sydney Office and manage governance, reporting, people and partnerships We're looking for someone who:has a degree in risk, environmental science, management, engagement or communicationsbrings over 10 years' experience in a senior role, ideally across government or community sectorsis a confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsunderstands the big social, environmental and economic issues facing Sydneyknows how to develop and deliver complex strategies, programs and partnershipsthinks strategically, works collaboratively and leads with purpose This is a unique opportunity to shape a more resilient Sydney and work with passionate people who care about the city's future.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
