About the role This is an exciting opportunity to join our team to lead the development and implementation of a Records Disposal Program for legal and administrative records.
This critical role ensures cost effective storage and disposal of records while complying to regulatory requirements and best practices.
The Archivist is responsible for conducting appraisals of records, preparing recommendation reports, and transferring significant records to external archives for preservation.
They offer expert advice on record classification, retention authorities, and access directions, and provide guidance and support to Records Officers in managing record management procedures.
Additionally, they assist in complex inquiries, projects, and staff training under the guidance of the Records Manager.

Certificate IV in Business (Records & Information Management) or a minimum of 3 years' experience in reviewing and managing archived records.
Obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Security clearance.
Must possess the ability to safely and efficiently handle boxes weighing between 5 kg and 10 kg, as this responsibility may be required on a daily basis.
Physical fitness and the capability to perform these duties are essential.
Requirement to work onsite at the CSO Office, located at 60-70 Elizabeth Street, Sydney, five days a week.
Please note that the office will be relocating to Parkline Place, 252 Pitt Street, Sydney, in July 2026.
