Lead Council and Committee governance operations.
Supervise a small team and manage end-to-end meeting processes.

Join a high-performing Governance team in a key contract role supporting Council operations.
As Senior Governance Officer, you will oversee the preparation of agendas, minutes, and business papers, supervise staff, and ensure all processes meet statutory and procedural standards.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and attend Council and Committee meetings, taking accurate minutes and tracking follow-up actions.
Supervise and support Governance Officers to deliver timely and compliant business documentation.
Maintain Council records, governance policies, and web-based content.
Provide expert advice on governance protocols, election support, and policy review.
Manage the production of the Annual Report and ensure continuous improvement across governance systems.
What We're Looking For: Strong governance, compliance, or council administration background.
Experience preparing formal meeting documentation, with excellent attention to detail.
Proven ability to supervise staff and manage priorities under tight deadlines.
Working knowledge of relevant legislation (ideally the Local Government Act).
High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.
National Police Clearance (within 12 months).
This is a contract role requiring immediate availability, ideally with prior Local Government or regulatory experience.
