The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing tools, systems, and processes that support the successful execution of engineering projects.
This is a pivotal role that combines hands-on project and engineering management activities.
You will lead a growing team of project engineers and collaborate across departments—including manufacturing, operations, and finance—to meet governance and reporting requirements while delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
You will also be tasked with establishing a new project management framework tailored to Hypersonix's needs.
This framework must be simple, scalable, and adaptable to a variety of project types, while supporting flexibility in planning and execution due to the technical complexity and uncertainty of our engineering environment.
Responsibilities include: Coordinate planning, execution and delivery of engineering projects across all engineering disciplines and business functions including flight vehicle design, assembly, and testing.
Plan and execute engineering design reviews.
Establish systems for project planning and execution, including earned value management.
Contribute to engineering management plans, configuration management plans, engineering tools and processes, review and approval processes.
Ensure all engineering work complies with applicable regulatory standards.
Develop an engineering skills plan, identify gaps, and implement strategies to address them.
Manage engineering resourcing across multiple projects, resolving conflicts and prioritising needs.
Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
Mentor and upskill team members to foster a "business as usual" approach to project management.
Contribute to continuous improvements in company processes and business systems to support informed decision-making.
Develop tools that support stakeholders to monitor project execution and identify emerging issues.

To be successful in this role you will need: Degree qualified in Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
RPEQ registration (or eligibility and willingness to obtain).
Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering management, team leadership, or coordination roles within fast-paced, complex environments.
Proven ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams with a focus on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform decisions.
Commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and applying earned value management.
Supportive, hands-on leadership style with demonstrated agility in decision-making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Resilient and results-driven in complex, high-pressure environments.
Logical and methodical approach to solving complex technical challenges.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Jira, MS Project (or equivalent project management tools).
Siemens NX and Teamcentre experience.
Aircraft design, hypersonic technology, aircraft design and design for production.
Experience working in a regulated industry.
Experience with inventory, production and capacity planning.
Supplementary requirements Must be able to meet any applicable security clearance or background check requirements relevant to the role.
