We're seeking an experienced and resilient Project Manager to join our Business Technology & Programs (BTP) Division.
This role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and meet the highest standards of compliance and quality.
Working within the Operational Programs team, the Project Manager will contribute to initiatives that enhance performance, resourcing, clinical quality, logistics, technology, and systems across AV Operations.

This is a specialised project management role operating within a uniquely complex environment.
AV is primarily an emergency services provider, who are also influenced by its position within the health sector and its reliance on government funding - each element contributes distinct priorities and influences that add to the organisation's complexity.
Understanding the intricacies of AV's unique operating environment takes time, which is why this role demands a strong foundation in core capabilities.

This is a Full Time, Permanent position.
While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Blackburn in line with our hybrid working model.

About the role
Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:

Ensure project governance structures are in place, including stakeholder sign-off at key milestones
Identify project risks and develop contingency plans
Develop project budgets and manage functional expenditure - seeking endorsement from the Project Steering Committee and approval from the General manager Operational Services where expenditure may exceed budget
Implement approved plans and strategies within project budget parameters and time frames, develop strategies to reduce costs against the approved budget
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project, including account management and timely reporting
Ensure effective working relationships are built and maintained with key internal stakeholders

About you
The Project Manager is responsible for navigating a dynamic landscape, managing shifting priorities, and fostering strong relationships across both corporate and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.

To be successful in this role you will also possess:

A postgraduate qualification or industry certification (or progress toward) combined with high-level relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and sound experience.
Demonstrated experience in program and/or project management methodologies
Proven skills and demonstrated success in managing complex and/or high risk projects with multiple stakeholders
Familiarity with project management in the public sector and an awareness of issues relating to a government environment
Stakeholder Engagement and influencing skills to gain the acceptance and support of ideas and cooperation of others
Resilience to navigate an often complex and challenging environment
Conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
Initiative to identify and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to achieve goals
Capacity to make sound decisions under pressure
