About the Role Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) is seeking two experienced mentors to join the team as Mentor Support Officers.
One role will focus on supporting women in trade apprentices, and the other on FIFO-based apprentices and trainees across Western Australia.
In these roles, you will provide vital mentoring and support services to ASA clients.
Your primary objective will be to increase apprenticeship completions by identifying and addressing industry, workplace, and personal issues early, and by helping to mitigate challenges that may arise during the training process.
This position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis located in Osborne Park.
Key Responsibilities The role will include a range of day-to-day tasks including: Conducting risk assessments with clients to identify any potential barriers to completion.
Deliver in-person, phone and online mentoring support to clients, offering ongoing support and assistance throughout their training contract.
Develop and maintain Tailored Support Plans (TSP's).
Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of databases and TSP's, adhering to compliance requirements.
Deliver information sessions at school and community events to support and promote the value of apprenticeships, traineeships and the benefits of mentoring support.
Host networking events to create engagement for apprentices.
Collaborate with key stakeholders in job search and employment services for job seekers.
About You To be a successful mentor you will have the following skills and experience: Knowledge and awareness of issues and potential barriers to completion of Apprenticeships.
A minimum of 12 months relevant experience working with young people or proven relevant experience.
Must be able to provide Apprentices with sound guidance in drawing from life experience, workplace knowledge, values and academic achievement.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
Ability to promote Australian Apprenticeships to prospective clients and represent ASA at events.
Understanding/knowledge of apprenticeships and traineeships.
Ability to work to and deliver on KPIs.
