The University has commenced a global search for its next Vice-Chancellor to succeed Professor Duncan Maskell, who will be stepping down from the role in early 2025. This is a rare and outstanding opportunity to lead one of the great research-intensive universities of the world, taking an outstanding and thriving university to greater heights and into the hearts and minds of Australians and our global communities.

The successful candidate will be a collegiate leader of the highest intellectual calibre, with the ability to guide the institution to new and unparalleled heights of endeavour and achievement, whilst advancing its social contract more broadly. Committed to good governance, and possessing a significant record of strategic and operational leadership within a complex and high performing academic environment, they will foster a dynamic culture embracing diversity, inclusion, and participation, thus ensuring a world class student experience, continued commitment to research and innovation, all the while advocating for the university through impactful engagements with its communities, partners and stakeholders, both nationally and internationally.
