Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach

Play Performance is looking for an experienced and extremely motivated strength and conditioning coach to join our highly skilled high-performance team. The role will offer a format similar to that of a professional sports environment, working with athletes from amateur to professional level in both team and semi-private settings. The successful candidate will gain experience working with athletes from a wide variety of sports and will be required to effectively communicate and work in a team environment with our high-performance staff to deliver an athlete centred approach to improving performance, mitigating injury risk, and managing current injuries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Programming and modification of training interventions for individual athletes, groups, and teams from amateur to professional, and from a wide variety of sports.
  • Management of allocated group of athletes including consistent communication, programming, coaching, and upkeep of wellness and attendance.
  • Coaching on the gym floor in semi-private and team environments (with potential to move to field coaching in various roles as well).
  • Performance testing using the latest sport science technology (training will be provided)
  • Data analysis, reporting and communication of performance testing data (training will be provided)

Requirements

  • Level 2 ASCA and minimum 2 years experience coaching within sporting club environment, athlete performance training centre or high school program (preferably with athletes at an elite level).
  • Undergraduate degree in sport science/or similar (or working towards)
  • Working With Childrens Check
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate

  • Experience working within a high performance team setting and working with other high performance staff to meet organisational KPI's
  • Experience in sport science technology and processing such as Vald systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with online software Teambuildr
  • Qualifications in speed/sprint training/coaching
