Our client is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a thriving boutique Real Estate Investment management firm. This role offers an exciting opportunity to guide a team of three accountants, providing strategic financial leadership and contributing to the company's growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting responsibilities. This role is based in the vibrant city of Sydney.

What you'll do:

As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in leading the finance function of our client's boutique Real Estate Investment management firm. You will be at the helm of a dedicated team of three accountants, guiding them towards achieving their individual and collective goals. Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from overseeing financial reporting to managing budgeting processes. Your expertise in forecasting will be crucial in predicting future financial trends and informing strategic decisions. Furthermore, your ability to present complex financial information in an accessible manner will be key when preparing board reports.

Provide strategic leadership to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
Manage budgeting processes, working closely with various departments to ensure financial efficiency
Lead forecasting activities, utilising data analysis to predict future financial trends
Prepare board reports, presenting complex financial information in an accessible manner
Contribute to the overall growth and success of the company through effective financial management

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller position brings a strong background in financial control within the real estate industry. You are CA/CPA qualified and have experience in external audit. Your leadership skills are exceptional, having managed teams effectively in previous roles. You possess strong analytical skills that enable you to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.   • Proven experience in a similar role within the real estate industry
  • Strong background in financial control
  • CA/CPA qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in external audit would be advantageous
