The Table Tennis Australia Head of Strategic Projects and Commercial is a newly created role to assist the CEO with project managing key strategic pieces of work and developing and implementing a commercialisation strategy across system monetisation, partnerships, sponsors and philanthropic donors.

A background in table tennis is not a prerequisite, however a deep understanding of the sports sector is required.

The Head of Strategic Projects and Commercial will report directly to the CEO and align to the Table Tennis in Australia Strategy priorities.

Key responsibilities will include:

1. Strategic projects

An initial focus on the following strategic areas:

  • Modernisation of the membership model to achieve growth through unaffiliated/social players
  • Technology and system integration

Further strategic projects to be identified throughout the term of the role.

All projects will work with Member Associations nationally to ensure collaboration and engagement across the whole of the table tennis system in Australia.

2. Commercial

  • Monetisation of systems and platforms
  • Procurement of major projects and partnerships
  • Development and implementation of a Corporate Partnerships Program
  • Development and implementation of a Philanthropic portfolio

The intended impact of the role on TTA and the broader table tennis system includes:

  • Growth and expansion – support and drive initiatives to ensure growth
  • Enhanced collaboration – working across the system with Member Associations to derive benefit for the system as a whole
  • Revenue generation above and beyond existing levels and via new channels
