With the impending 2024 Paris Olympics & Paralympics, and the 2032 Brisbane Olympics & Paralympics on the horizon, the current period presents an exciting opportunity to join the Delivery and Partnerships team at Athletics Australia as we actively seek a suitable candidate for the position of Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator.

About the Role

The role of the Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator at Athletics Australia entails aiding in the development and execution of marketing and content initiatives, primarily focusing on the organization's expanding digital presence and stakeholder network.

Proficiency across various digital platforms including social media, websites, eDMs, online forums, fan engagement platforms, registration, and ticketing systems is essential. Responsibilities include maintaining data, analyzing trends, and identifying opportunities to enhance engagement and bolster the sport, ensuring a strong connection with the enthusiastic Athletics fan base.

Your core duties will include:

  • Contribution to AA's media and communication content strategy.
  • Aiding in the planning, implementation, and assessment of diverse multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Crafting engaging and shareable content derived from AA events to elevate the profiles of athletes and the sport.
  • Ensuring all digital content remains aligned with the brand, including event logos, marketing collateral creation, and adhering to organization-wide design needs in accordance with AA and partner brand guidelines.
  • Assistance in real-time reporting on athletics competitions for dissemination via AA's internal channels and external media.
  • This role may necessitate domestic travel, alongside after-hours and weekend commitments.

As a proficient content and marketing specialist, you will play a vital role in fostering deeper connections within the athletics community and the broader sporting landscape across various channels like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and eDMs. Your ardor for sports and athletics should be evident, while your adeptness in social media is expected to drive growth and interaction. Your creative flair is instrumental in enhancing AA's social media footprint and staying abreast of contemporary trends within the market.

Preferably, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing or Communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, coupled with a robust grasp of the social media domain.
  • Experience in generating content for websites and various digital and traditional platforms, encompassing skills in writing, photography, and videography.
  • A solid understanding of the sports arena.
  • Proven experience in producing digital and social media assets for both organic and paid campaigns.
  • A staunch dedication to clean sport, in adherence to AA's National Integrity Framework policies, including the Australian National Anti-doping Policy, Safeguarding Children and Young Persons Policy, and Code of Conduct.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Working with Children Check and (or eligibility to obtain) Police Check.
