This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of disaster-resilient communities in Queensland. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of joint State and Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and resilience funded projects. This role requires a strong financial background as the team is accountable for quantifying, verifying, and processing applicant's monthly progress payments.

What you'll do:

As an Area Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the rapid recovery of disaster-impacted communities in Queensland. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on disaster resilience in Queensland.

  • Assist local government and other delivery agents to successfully execute programs
  • Deliver program management and project controls for funding programs
  • Monitor and report on the governance, scope, cost, time, and quality of programs and projects
  • Maintain Governance of, and verify, monthly progress and payment claims
  • Identify, develop, implement, embed and sustain systems for program management continuous improvement
  • Provide assistance to Regional Liaison Officers (RLO) for advice on programs
  • Be available for deployment at short notice to support activities throughout the state as required
  • Undertake related programs, projects and other duties of equivalent complexity as required

What you bring:

Your ability to problem solve, understand and process data from complex structures will be key to your success in this role.

  • Proven experience in Program and/or Project Management
  • Advanced level skills in MS Excel
  • Advanced level skills in MS Office 365 suite
  • Experience with document control solutions
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Projects
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, understand and process data from complex structures
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships at all levels within the team and with external stakeholders
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, attention to detail, including report writing and delivering presentations
