Join us as a Field Service Engineer in the Motion Business Area, where you will carry out service tasks of low to medium complexity following work instructions, ABB protocols, quality standards, and safety directives. Provide top-notch customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Based in Moorebank, Australia, this role reports to the Field Service Manager - East Coast.

This is a position with a global grade of 14

Your responsibilities

  • Performing field service duties, diagnosing technical issues and conducting analysis either remotely or on-site for designated service categories and products
  • Enhancing customer satisfaction and retention by offering exceptional customer experiences and effectively communicating service timelines and expectations
  • Collaborating with customers to identify areas for enhancing their operations and resolving pain points. Follow local protocols to inform the account team of potential opportunities
  • Mentoring junior technicians and engineers
  • Compiling material lists required for service tasks and ensuring availability of all necessary materials, parts, and equipment during service activities
  • Preparing all necessary documentation and customer reports for timely endorsement by customer representatives
  • Identifying equipment/process malfunctions, suggesting proactive corrective measures, and providing recommendations to prevent recurrence of issues
  • Proactively planning and executing tasks with a 'first-time right' mindset in collaboration with customers, ensuring on-time completion. Adhering to safety protocols, best practices, and environmental obligations

Your background

  • Preferably a certified Electrician or Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity and experience in servicing, commissioning, and repairing AC & DC drives and drive systems would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in industrial process applications of variable speed drives, along with background in automated manufacturing or mining industries, would be highly beneficial
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the capacity to work independently
  • Demonstrated leadership aptitude, adopting a collaborative, problem-solving approach, and possessing effective communication skills
  • Readiness to undertake frequent interstate travel
