Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Centre Business Manager to join School of Early Childhood and Inclusive Education, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, Academic Division.

The primary role of the position is the provision of financial planning, management and reporting processes to support a nationally dispersed ARC Centre of Excellence. The position provides strategic and operational advice and specialist assistance to the Centre Director and Centre Chief Operating Officer to ensure adherence to budget as well as to expenditure rules set by funding bodies and participating institutions.

The role is responsible for performing a wide range of complex research management related activities that determine how objectives will be achieved and how resources will be deployed to achieve outcomes. The position is responsible for developing and sustaining effective working relationships with existing Australian and international university and industry collaborators to better understand stakeholder needs and to enable the delivery of high quality operational and research support services

What you need to succeed

Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and operate as a trusted expert.Demonstrated ability to display initiative, critically evaluate systems and processes, and contribute new ideas to achieve ongoing improvements at a strategic and operational level.High level written communication skills to prepare clear and concise reports, plans and complex correspondence using a variety of digital technologies.Demonstrated financial management and budgeting experience within a nation research centre.High level ability to manage time and tasks effectively and meet a range of competing deadlines in a timely manner without compromising quality.

Remuneration: $126,109 to $142,937 pa (HEW8) (inclusive of $106,563 to $120,783 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
