Opportunity

Housing Choices currently has an opportunity for a motivated and commercially astute General Manager of Risk, Assurance & Compliance.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Legal & Governance, the successful applicant will be responsible for the leading, driving and shaping of a consistent and robust risk management, assurance, and compliance frameworks to ensure they meet the needs and expectations of our various internal and external stakeholders which include government agencies, lenders, the Board and Assurance, Audit and Risk Committee and customer groups.


The Risk, Assurance and Compliance team is a close-knit, hardworking team that works well with a strong sense of trust and camaraderie as such this role will ideally suit a team-oriented person with a high level of engagement skills who is keen to develop and provide leadership and support to other members of the team.


This role is being offered on a permanent full time basis and can be located from any of the Housing Choices Offices in Rivervale (WA), Adelaide (SA) or Melbourne (Vic).

Skills and Experiences:

About You:

  • Highly skilled professional with strong internal compliance, risk management and internal audit experience
  • Tertiary qualification in business, strategy, management, community housing or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience and gravitas with a successful track record leading governance, risk management and compliance functions across a complex organisation
  • Demonstrated interest in NFP or community sector
  • Welldeveloped conceptual, analytical, and problemsolving skills, sound commercial judgement, and decisionmaking ability, including identifying key issues
  • Strong interpersonal communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship development skills
  • Ability to coach, mentor and support team members and operate in a strong team environment
