About the role:
The Risk & Assurance Analyst plays a key role in enhancing the Infrastructure Safety team's risk and compliance framework.


This involves contributing to the refinement and implementation of risk management strategies, facilitating internal audits, and fostering a culture of compliance.

This role is critical in ensuring Metro meets its commercial commitments to the State.
This is a full-time permanent role in Metro's Infrastructure division situated in Docklands.

Responsibilities include:


Conduct and assist with internal audits & reviews including risk management over operations effectiveness and compliance with all applicable regulations.

Draft internal audit findings with value-adding insights, highlighting any issues, and recommendations to mitigate risk.
Prepare and present detailed reports on audits, incidents, safety data, inspections, and investigations.
Oversee the development and maintenance of dashboards for high-level monitoring.
Liaise with the internal divisions and document controllers to ensure departmental documents are managed in accordance with Metro standards.


Proactive approach to risk management and assurance processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and effective communication across various levels of Metro.

Ensure Metro alignment with the MTM Risk Management Standard, leveraging ISO31000 guidelines to uphold best practices in risk management.
Conduct research into industry-leading practices within the realms of governance, risk, and compliance, contributing to Metro's continuous improvement initiatives.

Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

About you:
Bachelor's Degree or other related discipline
Technical Industry and/or Professional Experience within the Rail Sector (desirable)
Implementation Knowledge for ISO31000 Risk Management Framework with knowledge of ISO 27001
Experience in ISO 9001:2008 Internal Auditor and/or Lead Auditor supported by the appropriate qualification.
Ability to analyse data and write and present reports.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills.
Demonstrated extensive analytical, problem solving, influencing and negotiation skills.
Ability to work unsupervised.
