About the Role
They are currently seeking a Service Finance Officer to join their high performing team in Goulburn. This is an estimated 8-month temporary assignment, with a strong potential to extend.


Working within the Shared Services & Customer Experiences Business Unit, you will providing financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.


Responsibilities

  • Processing and monitoring payments and expenditures
- preparing and monitoring the payroll system

  • Perform the day to day processing of financial transactions to ensure that municipal finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
  • Deliver high level, professional customer service
  • Answer enquiries within a timely and accurate manner
  • Facilitate the resolution of complaints and escalations
  • Clean and verify data updating into the system, maintaining master data
  • Records and database management ensuring high integrity, accuracy and confidentiality
  • Complete manual calculations and adjustments to ensure integrity of payments
  • Capture, update and close tickets upon completion
  • Verify and complete audits of other officers payroll processing to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Track, monitor and identify trends and issues, mitigating risks
  • Contribute to continuous improvement strategies
  • Ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements

About You

  • 36 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Direct and lead the work of others
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks
  • Public Sector experience highly advantageous
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Professional, resilient and empathetic manner
  • Superior organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Solid analytical, conflict resolution and problemsolving skills

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated Payroll, Accounting, Finance experience or in an equivalent field
  • Extensive experience in a highly transactional payroll related environment
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS office suite
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Willingness to undergo National Police Check
  • Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
