About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Officer/Handyperson to join our team servicing our valued aged care facilities in Normanhurst.

In this role, you'll play a crucial part in maintaining our property, land-based assets, and equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

We are looking for a person who is organised and motivated to ensure the safe operating environment of our residents and staff and be part of a great team.

Key responsibilities

Conduct planned and unplanned maintenance tasks to support our service delivery goals.
Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families, showing empathy and understanding towards the needs of our aged residents.
Ensure all maintenance work meets corporate standards and complies with workplace health and safety regulations.
Perform building and property maintenance tasks in a timely manner, whether routine, planned, or reactive.

Qualifications, skills, and experience

Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of relevant legislation related to buildings and workplace health and safety.
Trade background preferred but not essential.
Ability to maintain buildings and equipment to meet legislative and corporate standards.
Familiarity with contractor obligations.
Proficiency in computer skills.
Current NSW driver's license.

Even better

Experience in maintenance, particularly in an aged care or retirement living setting.
Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS); training can be provided.
