Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Full Time - Based in Port AugustaPika Wiya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (PWHSAC) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service which offers comprehensive primary health, social and emotional wellbeing support to Aboriginal people in Port Augusta, with clinics located in Port Augusta, Davenport Community, Copley and Nepabunna.

The PWHSAC employs staff made up of mixed disciplines that includes General Practitioners, Nursing, Allied Health, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Reception, Finance and Administration staff.


About the role:


Exciting opportunity for a Deputy Chief Executive Officer to join PWHSAC to apply your senior executive experience and strategic leadership skills in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer to lead and deliver high quality and culturally appropriate services.

Responsible to the CEO in supporting the strategic leadership and management of the organisation in accordance with the Mission Statement, Strategic and Action Plans of the Pika Wiya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (PWHSAC).Responsible for supporting the CEO in the overall day-to-day management of the Pika WiyaHealth Service.

Work closely with the CEO in the development and implementation of business reporting systems on a range of government funded programmes, coordinating and reporting on program outcomes and monitoring of program Income and Expenditure which is supported through an outsourced financial accounting firm.

Providing leadership and line management support to all Staff within the service.

Develop and maintain links with other relevant government and non-government organisations to achieve positive health outcomes for the Aboriginal Community through programs, service delivery, service coordination and integration in the (PWHSAC) footprint.

Support the CEO in consulting in a culturally appropriate manner with the Aboriginal community and their representatives on needs and appropriate service responses.

Demonstrated planning skills; effective oral and written communication skills.

About You:
You possess senior executive management skills.

Importantly, you have experience working within an Aboriginal Primary Health Care Setting, Aboriginal Community Control Health Service or Primary and Tertiary Health Sectors.


Other key skills and attributes include:

An appropriate degree/diploma qualification in business management, finance, health administration, or similar is required; and/orExperience and proven management performance and professional outcomes in a similar role.
