About the role


We are seeking a dedicated Casual AOD Support Worker for our 24 hour roster You will provide practical and emotional support and facilitation of program engagement to the Residential Rehabilitation participants.

Responsibilities include

  • Knowledge of lifestyle pressures faced by disadvantaged people in the community, implement communication strategies tailored to present clients and their needs
  • Demonstrate knowledge of AOD sector including role, regulations and legislation
  • Conduct scheduled and random breathalyser/urine screening, complete timetabled requirements and transport back to units at required time
  • Facilitate group sessions, collect feedback and record attendance
  • Work with Program Manager and staff to continually improve a holistic integrated residential program and contribute to the AOD services system review
This is a casual position, based in The Basin, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4 Award.

You must be available to undertake the 24 hour 7 days support worker roster schedule, comprising of the below:

Morning shift:
(7am - 3:30pm)

Afternoon Shift:
(3pm - 11pm)

Sleepover Shift:
(3pm - 8:30am)

Night Shift (Active): (10:45pm - 7:15am)

You will have

  • Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Addiction Counselling or related discipline
  • Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent (minimum) Diploma (preferred)
  • Relevant experience in Social Service environment
  • Current Certification in First Aid (HLTAID001) and CPR (HLTAID009)
  • Relevant experience in a social service environment and AOD sector
  • Sound experience of working with women from diverse backgrounds and with a complex range of support needs
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence
