The opportunity
The Project Officer supports the development and implementation of projects to achieve project outcomes in line with organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation, implementing and monitoring project plans to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established agency project management methodology.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees, and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans.
  • Source collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.
  • Undertake research and analysis, identify trends and prepare project briefs to support informed decision making and planning.

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrated professional experience particularly with regard for the provision of project support services to project teams.
  • Preferably have Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in Planning, Urban Design, Project Management or related discipline
  • A great eye for detail, ability to prioritise and strong coordination skills are a must.
  • Strong communications skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capacity to research information and effectively prepare written reports, memoranda and correspondence.
  • Experience in the use of business management systems (MS Office suite)
  • Capacity to undertake procurement and financial support activities including ordering of goods and services, payment of invoices and producing financial reports for the administration of project budgets
