The Deputy EDONM will have overall leadership accountability for achieving a person-centred care cultural change, management of professional nursing and midwifery issues, nursing and midwifery workforce planning, nursing and midwifery clinical standards and clinical risk and the co-ordination of activities to support the provision of clinical services across the portfolio.


These newly create roles will work in collaboration and in partnership with the aligned Deputy Chief Operating Officer's (Deputy COO) to represent the Nursing & Midwifery Directorate and provide strategic assistance and advice on nursing and midwifery professional matters and provision of services, professional nursing and midwifery leadership and focused support to deliver and achieve Western Health's strategic priorities.


To be Successful in this Role you

  • Will have registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife within Australia
  • Excellent leadership and management skills that are congruent with Western Health values with demonstrated experience in leading change to benefit our consumers and employees
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing professional nursing and midwifery practice strategies
  • Extensive nursing and midwifery professional knowledge and leadership experience with the ability to work in collaboration with senior operational leaders
  • Extensive previous clinical and management experience within a large complex health care organisation.
