About the role

Return to Work Victoria (RTWV) is to be established as part of reforms to modernise the Victorian workers' compensation Scheme, focussed on supporting workers through initiatives such as supporting employers to prevent injuries and help them intervene earlier to address emerging mental health concerns and providing pathways for injured workers to return to their existing jobs, or find suitable alternatives.

The Senior Manager, Programs is accountable for the execution and delivery of all new RTWV initiatives and programs, incorporating contract management responsibilities. The position is also responsible for realising benefits to support RTWV objectives, with a proven ability to lead program teams with vision and build capability to ensure continued program success.

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of multidisciplinary specialists to deliver multiple key programs of work aligned to RTWV objectives, providing support in performance development and through coaching and motivation
  • Develop, monitor and deliver the RTWV program implementation plan, with accountability for delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints to realise optimal return on investment
  • Lead procurement of third party partnership agreements and funding grants, including ongoing contract management and renewal
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders, including employee representative groups, to ensure optimal delivery and management of contracts and project
  • Determine the best approach to deliver new or changed policy and adjust project delivery strategy accordingly
  • Deliver and contribute to effective project management, governance and reporting systems, identifying and implementing innovative solutions in consideration of broader impacts

About you

You will have excellent interpersonal and broad stakeholder engagement skills including a demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and resolve complex issues. As someone who is flexible and agile you will also have excellent problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills combined with the ability to deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes.

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a senior management role supporting delivery of medium to large scale programs, with demonstrated use of strong project management
  • Proven vendor management background, with contract management and procurement experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality outcomes and manage multiple, complex projects within tight timeframes and on an Agile pilot, test and learn basis
  • Passion to motivate, generate energy and commitment, and an ability to guide and work effectively within a small, dynamic team
  • Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
