Finance plays a vital role in our success as a business. Our team collaborates closely with other teams to incorporate commercial thinking into their strategies and make informed decisions that drive our business forward.

We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Transport team. With a team of over 400 professionals, Coles provides ample opportunities for personal growth and career advancement. By working closely with key business units, you will gain valuable insights into our operations and contribute to important strategic projects.

About the Role

The Finance Business Partner for our Finance Transport team contributes significantly to our success by collaborating with the Transport and broader finance teams to support decision-making processes, drive business initiatives, and ensure effective financial management.

You will also:

  • Engage with key stakeholders to gather business insights and enhance decision-making through comprehensive financial analysis and reporting for Coles Transport
  • Influence outcomes by leveraging data to drive favorable business results
  • Identify and address financial and non-financial risks in decision-making processes
  • Develop and assess business plans, forecasts, and reports for Coles Transport
  • Offer finance and administrative support for contract management and procurement within Coles Transport
  • Prepare business cases and conduct benefit reviews for new business initiatives to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to foster positive change and provide valuable information to senior management in support of the transport strategy

About You and Your Skills

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Finance Business Partner with excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities. The ability to prioritize tasks effectively and deliver optimal outcomes for stakeholders is crucial for success in this role.

You should also possess:

  • Preferably a CA, CPA, or a similar business qualification
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, stakeholder management, change management, problem-solving, and influencing skills
  • Strong commercial and analytical acumen to understand key performance drivers and provide recommendations for enhancing performance
  • Experience in engaging with both financial and non-financial stakeholders and effectively communicating complex information to diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with financial KPIs relating to the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
