About the role:Ventia's Defence Base Services (DBS) team are seeking to engage an experienced
Sports & Recreation Supervisor. This ongoing Full-Time position will see you based at HMAS Stirling, Rockingham however you may be expected to work at other defence bases across Perth as required.

    Skills & experience
  • State Recognised qualification as a Lifeguard. (mandatory)
  • Current First aid Certificate (mandatory)
  • Hold a Current Working with Childrens Check (mandatory)
  • Rescue and Resuscitation Qualifications [Depth Test]
  • Australian Citizen (mandatory)
  • Results focused with the ability to identify and prioritise problems and issues, generate solutions and work collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation, energy, initiative and commitment, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to balance the requirements of working in a secure environment whilst promoting healthy routines for clients.

Other Special Conditions

  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the role as well as the physical demands of the environment and emergency evacuation requirements.
  • Australian Citizen
  • No Serious charges on Police check in order to obtain a Defence Security Pass

Key duties, but not limited to:

  • General pool and gymnasium management and administration associated with water quality and other legislative requirements;
  • Ensure rosters are up to date and communicated;
  • Manager the absenteeism from a contract delivery perspective;
  • Complete Sport and Recreation compliance and reporting duties;
  • Overseeing the Emergency Action Plan;
  • Checking and using pool rescue equipment;
  • Operating, retracting and safely stowing pool covers where provided;
  • Checking advisory signs;
  • Pool surface, sub surface cleaning and pool surrounds;
  • Moving and securing lane markers and booms;
  • Supervising gymnasium and pool users;
  • Ensuring pool users adopt safe water entry practices;
  • Ensuring pool users move safely about the pool area;
  • Maintain at least one lifeguard on duty and facing the water at all times while swimmers are in the pool area;
  • Ensure that personnel are authorised to use the aquatic facilities (including sauna);
  • Periodically patrol the aquatic surrounds;
