The Role


Due to internal secondment, this is a brilliant contract opportunity to parachute in and work with an experienced IR and ER Team as the Workplace Relations Specialist.

In this six-month contract, you will act as the point of escalation for more complex case management and investigations across Australia.

You will be responsible for finding business savvy resolutions for employee relations matters.

Your primary responsibilities will be to:
Working alongside the line managers and senior leaders to provide a high level of hands-on support in employee relations including conducting performance meetings, running investigations and disciplinary meetings;
Providing a solid tool kit for Managers to manage this process effectively within their teams including the development of an effective performance flow chart; and


Working across a broad and diverse blue and white collar workforce autonomously, building strong relationships across all levels of the business.

What we are looking for


Due to the fast paced and complex nature of the business you will naturally be able to hit the ground running and align your Employee Relations approach with the practical needs of the business.

You are driven, engaging, approachable and are self-assured in your ER practice. You will have the ability to make decisions and work on your own initiative.

To be successful in this role, you will also have:
Strong employee relations and case management experience including conducting investigations, performance management and award interpretation;
An understanding of government regulators (e.g. Fair Work Ombudsman);
Experience working within heavy industry - preferable;
An in-depth knowledge of relevant and contemporary HR issues, methodologies and practices;
Demonstrate ability to achieve results through collaboration and influencing; and


The ability to deal effectively with a broad range of people at all levels in business with exemplary interpersonal skills.
