This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Regulatory Analyst with a passion for the electricity sector to join our dynamic Regulation team and make a significant impact.

You will play a key role in developing regulatory strategies that align commercial, customer, and policy objectives in a time of rapid transformation in the energy landscape and economic framework.

The Senior Regulatory Analyst will focus on a crucial five-year regulated revenue setting project, analyzing how the distribution network should adapt to factors like climate change, customer energy resources, electrification, and shifts in the energy market.

To excel in this role, you must be adept at engaging with various stakeholders, such as customer representative bodies, regulators, government entities, and industry players. Collaboration with subject matter experts to shape policy positions and provide advice on economic regulatory matters is essential.

You should ideally have a background in regulatory/energy policy or economics, with a solid grasp of the regulatory framework applicable to utilities. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in quantitative analysis are key.

What you'll deliver:

  • Develop strategies and business cases for the five-yearly revenue setting project, including regulatory proposals and supporting evidence
  • Analyze economic and commercial impacts of regulatory changes in the electricity distribution industry, offering regulatory advice and preparing submissions
  • Provide guidance to the Regulatory Management team
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders effectively on regulatory issues
  • Assist in managing materials for business compliance with regulatory requirements

To succeed in this role you'll have:

  • A degree in economics, finance, law, or public policy
  • Knowledge of regulatory environments
  • Experience in economic concepts and quantitative analysis
  • Demonstrated structured and strategic thinking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience in a regulatory/government/economic consultancy setting
