Why this role matters:
The Research Assistant will provide research assistance to the Maintaining Social Engagement study. The position involves supporting the conduct online interviews with older adult study participants and their carers. The Research Assistant will support the administering of neuropsychological tests, and a series of questionnaires.
The position also involves entering data, maintaining meticulous records, and assisting with general day-to-day tasks in aid of the study.
The role of Research Assistant reports to the Study Coordinator and has no direct reports.Skills Required:
- Minimum of an Honours degree or equivalent, in psychology, behavioural science or a related discipline or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience with client/participant interviewing, preferably with older adults and individuals with dementia.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting neuropsychological/cognitive assessments; knowledge of/experience with online cognitive assessment is desirable.
- Excellent computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), online survey design (REDCap), Statistical software (SPSS) and generic and academic search engines.
- Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills and a friendly manner with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise own workload and work independently as well as within a team.
- Demonstrated experience and accuracy in maintaining a database.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
