What you'll do:

  • Support Senior/Principal Geochemists and Project Managers to scope and deliver high quality hydrogeochemical assessments within allocated timeframes and budgets.
  • Interrogate geochemical and water quality datasets to develop chemical source terms.
  • Develop predictive water quality and geochemical models using software such as PHREEQC, Geochemist Workbench (GWB) and/or MIN3P.
  • Collate, assess, and interpret modelling outputs and prepare technical reports.
  • Manage projects or packages of work as well as clients.
  • Collaborate with other teams within WSP to deliver integrated and multidisciplinary projects to our clients.

About you:

  • A Bachelor's degree in either (geo)chemistry, hydrogeology or earth sciences with previous consulting experience preferred.
  • Ideally, 2+ years of relevant professional experience in predictive modelling projects/studies.
  • Familiarity with standard geochemical characterisation tools and resources, including static and kinetic geochemical assessments.
  • Knowledge of Australian guidelines and regulations in Mining and Water Quality.
  • Scientifically mined and practical, dynamic, proactive, curious, and capable to work independently and autonomously.
  • Analytical skills, including data manipulation and statistics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
