The opportunity
As an underground Surveillance Officer, you will be responsible for the technical inspections of infrastructure activities for civil, rail alignment and bridges onsite and offsite activities (e.g. precast, steel fabrication, post-tensioning).

This will include, but not limited to:

  • Conduct daily site inspections and generating inspection reports using a risk management approach.
- liaison with contractors on ground teams through a collaborative approach and escalate any findings or construction issues with the Senior Surveillance Engineer.

  • Ensuring that health and safety measures are adopted and followed to the full extent.
- display high levels of attention to detail
- knowledge and skills in understanding the project technical requirements, ITPs, specifications, procedures and plans

  • Ability to influence others, good negotiating skills.
  • Excellent skills in managing of conflicting priorities.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, open communication.

For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the civil / structural infrastructure sector.
  • Certificate IV in Construction, Project Management, Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience in the construction industry
  • Preferred experience in Independent Verification, Client or a similar role.
  • Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative
  • Minimum NSW Class C driver's license or equivalent license valid in NSW
  • Proof of right to work in Australia
