About us
Direct Care Australia is a home and community provider of supports to people with a disability and age-related conditions across Australia.
We are seeking an experienced, committed and reliable Support Worker to provide support to people with both high and complex support needs.
About the Role
You will have experience supporting people with a disability to live their lives the way they wish.
This role is to support a participant with activities of preparing for work each day and transportation to and from work daily - 2 shifts each day of 2 hours each.
The role requires a Support Worker who is confident with prompting the participant to prepare for work and is confident with transportation to and from work.
Morning shift 7-9am : Afternoon shift 4-6pm - may be extended but not flexible with start times.
Essential Criteria
- Cert III or IV in Disability/Individual Support/Aged Care
- Enrolled Nurses also encouraged to apply
- Work experience in Disability or Aged Care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and flexible
- Current full driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- Comprehensive car insurance
- Current First Aid/CPR & Manual handling certificates
- National Criminal History Check
- Availability and willingness to work at least 20 hours per week across 7 days
- Smart phone required for DCA App and service delivery
Also MUST have the following:
- Ability to provide personcentred and consumerdirected care
- Availability to work across 7 days including passive and active night shifts
- Demonstrated experience working with moderate to high challenging behaviours
- Excellent written and spoken language skills and thorough casenoting experience
- An ability to understand, listen, and communicate with people who have limited verbal communication capabilities or who have English as a second language
