This role guides the development and implementation of transport safety and assurance frameworks for the Store Delivery team, ensuring that all Distribution Centres and Primary Connect transport teams meet safety obligations. This role also provides specialized guidance, coaching and assistance to internal business units, external customers and carrier partners.

You will deliver specialized transport safety support to Woolworths Supermarkets, Metro Stores, Big W, B2B and work collaboratively with external customers such as Endeavour Group and Ampol.

You will also support and guide other business units that have interactions with Primary Connect such as 3PL providers and Stores. Monitoring may include auditing or conducting other assurance activities within the established framework.

What you'll do:

  • Provide expertise, mentoring and guidance to ensure that transport safety standards and legislative requirements are met or exceeded by Store Delivery and their extended network, as well as compliance with the Primary Connect Safety Management System
  • Conduct assurance activities on internal business units and on external businesses following the annual assurance plan and established frameworks and support the close out of non-conformities
  • Coach and lead internal business units and external partners to deliver safe, effective and compliant outcomes for transport safety
  • Develop specific documented practices related to transport safety/chain of responsibility either directly or through partnerships with other key teams in safety, operations, and support functions
  • Work with operational and functional teams to enhance transport safety performance through the development and delivery of the safety plan
  • Develop assurance and other safety reports

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years of operational transport safety/chain of responsibility experience, with experience in retail supply chain desirable
  • Ability to handle complex problems with high ambiguity where solutions are not defined
  • Effective presentation skills (written and verbal) with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work across varying requirements within an operational environment
  • Lead Auditor Qualification or ability to acquire, will be desirable
