About the role:


Working with the other project team members, the Project Specialist is critical to enable the efficient and effective deliver projects across the organisation and the City.


Direct reports:

Main responsibilities:


Work with and contribute to the development of frameworks, structures and evolution of capabilities to support the delivery of projects.

Conduct requirements and options analysis, solution feasibility evaluation, and contribute to the overall architecture and design of business solutions.


Maintain high awareness of organisational drivers to provide well-informed advice, over a range of topics related to project enabling tools and technologies.

Provide research, coordination and quality assurance across each stage of the project lifecycle

Focus on lessons learnt to continually improve the services the EPMO offers.

Manage, coordinate, and monitor special projects and regularly report on the progress stages of these projects.


Develop, implement and manage a range of appropriate communication channels to ensure regular and consistent messaging is delivered to stakeholders.

Prepare reports and insights on project activities, identifying risks, issues and opportunities for improvement

Skills and experience:

Knowledge of the breadth and complexity of project / program / portfolio management (P3M) / within an EPMO

Experience within a public sector environment, preferably within a local council (highly regarded).

Ability to prioritise while working to demanding deadlines

Tertiary qualification in relevant fields such as business management, project management, information management, engineering, human services or similar (e.g. Bachelor of Business).

Credentials and / or certification in relevant fields such as change management, agile methodology (e.g. PROSCI, Agile fundamentals, ITIL).
