Essential Qualifications

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or an equivalent as recognized by ACECQA)
  • A current and valid check confirming the candidate's eligibility to work with children
  • First Aid certificate including training in asthma and anaphylaxis

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Comprehensive understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS) to ensure quality practices and outcomes for children
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and provide guidance to other educators in the room or setting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for engaging with children, families, colleagues, and management
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs tailored to the individual needs of children
  • Cultivate positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to foster a collaborative environment

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a Lead Educator, Room Leader, or similar role in an early childhood setting
  • Create an inclusive environment where all children, including those with additional needs, can flourish and learn
  • Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and external professionals to enrich children's learning and well-being
  • Proficient in utilizing relevant software for children's documentation, communication with families, and educational planning
