Hilton Darwin is looking for a casual Finance Assistant. As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for liaising and assisting the Director of Finance (DOF) & Finance Manager (FM) with all relevant financial reporting required for the smooth operation of the finance department. The core responsibilities of the role are essentially to provide financial support, advice and expertise to the Hotel Team, with the aim of maximising value.Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities:

Preparation of accounting records and financial reports of the hotel ensuring compliance with company requirements, lease agreement, statutory and fiscal requirements and timetables including SOX.
Provide month end closing and all other required management/finance reports.
Work with the DOF/FM to provide full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals within the hotel.
Balance sheet preparation and reconciliation ensuring a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the hotel. The balance sheet must be regularly reviewed and reconciliations performed on all accounts.
Assisting the hotels with the maintenance internal controls systems, providing an effective and efficient control over hotel assets, liabilities, revenue and costs. Ensure compliance with company policy.
Liaise and co-operate with both Internal and External Audit. Ensure that an effective program of in-hotel audit is in place and that corrective action is promptly taken where required. Give particular emphasis to ensuring that all revenue is captured.
Develop best practice financial accounting and control procedures.
From time-to-time, cover vacant positions of Cashier, Income Audit, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Purchasing Officer.
You will have:Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate
Ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems
Ability to help develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate
Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities
Detail oriented and organized
Ability to develop presentations and effectively present to all levels of company, hotels & owners.
Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)
Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new programs when required
