The Opportunity
As a Material Planner (Overseas) you will be the primary contact point with suppliers to ensure that orders are placed and fulfilled to meet production demands.
You'll be responsible for the daily review of forecasts and reports to determine order requirements of overseas truck parts to ensure that stock levels are maintained.
It also involves following up due and overdue orders with Suppliers, managing shortage control and taking corrective action to ensure materials are supplied.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Work with suppliers to the ensure timely and efficient supply of parts required for production.
- Follow up with suppliers on orders that are due to ship.
- Follow up with suppliers on orders that are overdue.
- Review MRP messages and process.
- Provide timely and accurate feedback to suppliers.
- Review daily shortage reports and expedite on an urgent basis.
- Ensure all stakeholders (Sales, Materials, Production) are kept updated on the status of any shortages using EWI.
About You
- Strong PC skills and JDE manufacturing system knowledge a definite advantage
- Knowledge of MRP and/or Forecasting systems an advantage
- Business / Logistics qualifications (Degree) highly desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Prior experience in a supply chain role highly desirable
- Prior experience in a multidisciplinary manufacturing facility (automotive experience ideal)
- Ability to negotiate effectively with Suppliers
