**The Opportunity**
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, proactive and outcome focused Senior Buyer (Commodity Managers) to join the Aftermarket Team here at PACCAR Australia. An average day will see you review cost changes, negotiate with suppliers, respond to internal customers and requesting pricing from local and overseas suppliers.
The role is responsible for the negotiation and management of our relationship with suppliers, including the commercial contractual requirements with respect to quality, total cost, technology, and delivery of products, recommending new products and suppliers, while delivering the highest value to internal and external customers.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Negotiate and establish relationships to facilitate material supply and product pricing
- Provide business assistance to other departments including timely and accurate information
- Drive process improvements internally and provide information to Management and other team members on a timely basis
- Promote strong business partnerships with suppliers
- Maintaining a consistent flow of good to our operation in line with time and cost requirements to ensure we meet our production objectives
- Provide assistance and guidance to Buyer/Planners
**About You**
- Previous experience in procurement and contract administrations and manager role ideally within the aftermarket industry
- Sound knowledge of negotiating and administrating contracts and blanket purchasing agreements
- Strong understanding of commercial Terms & Conditions & Commercial Law
- Excellent communication and strong ability to build effective partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving capabilities
- You will have a good understanding of the commercial and legal obligations / responsibilities associated with dealing with suppliers
- Have proven negotiation experience and strong numerical and analytical skills to facilitate the analysis process
- Have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage strong working relationships with suppliers at all levels
- Degree qualified within a business and or engineering related discipline is preferable
