Details: The Security and Emergency Management Division (SEMD) is responsible for developing and coordinating strategic security and emergency management policies for the ACT Government, with a focus on the entire government. They work closely with security and emergency management personnel in different areas.

We are seeking a proactive individual to handle various accounting and financial tasks, such as internal and external budgeting, financial management reporting, and analyzing financial performance. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, staff, and stakeholders.

The Assistant Director, Senior Management Accountant will play a key role in providing accurate financial information and budget advice to the Senior Leadership Team and will collaborate closely with the Strategic Finance Team and Treasury.

Responsibilities include ensuring effective governance of grant management processes, budget processes, financial statements, and annual reports.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Proficiency in using complex spreadsheets and financial systems like TM1.
  • Relevant accounting qualifications or significant progress towards obtaining them.

Security clearance: This role requires Australian citizenship and a current Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be created from this selection process to fill positions over the next year. The work environment follows an activity-based model where officers don't have designated workstations. Former ADF members are welcome to apply.
