The Clinical Research Manager (CRM) is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Clinical Research Unit at the Cancer Centre for Children - The Children's Hospital at Westmead, with the vision to continue to grow oncology paediatric research and to be recognised nationally and internationally for research outputs with the aim of improving overall survival in children with cancer.
The CRM will be responsible for overseeing all clinical research studies conducted through the Clinical Research Team at the Cancer Centre for Children - The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
The CRM will aim to promote an increase in the quality, quantity and relevance of oncology paediatric clinical trials conducted by assisting investigators in all aspects of the development and conduct of trials.
What you'll be doing
The Clinical Research Manager (CRM) is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Clinical Research Unit at the Cancer Centre for Children - The Children's Hospital at Westmead, with the vision to continue to grow oncology paediatric research and to be recognised nationally and internationally for research outputs with the aim of improving overall survival in children with cancer.
The CRM will be responsible for overseeing all clinical research studies conducted through the Clinical Research Team at the Cancer Centre for Children - The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
The CRM will aim to promote an increase in the quality, quantity and relevance of oncology paediatric clinical trials conducted by assisting investigators in all aspects of the development and conduct of trials.
- Detailed knowledge, experience and understanding of clinical trials and clinical research. Including knowledge of local and international regulatory requirements for clinical trials and clinical research.
- Successful track record in managing or coordinating multicentre, national and international clinical research in collaboration with other health disciplines. Includes experience in feasibility analyses, budget development, site start up and all aspects of trial management.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation and delegation skills and leadership attributes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and report individual and group performance to produce highly functioning teams.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret research data and direct research relevant to health outcomes.
- Demonstrated problem solving and strategic planning skills with the ability to design and implement appropriate departmental processes and systems to improve and maintain quality.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate research training programs relevant to clinical trials staff.
