The purpose of this role is to support the SH&W Platform Governance and Assurance (GCA) Capability lead in developing, maintaining and supporting implementation of the Group Governance, Compliance and Assurance Framework.


You will lead the SH&W component of the Self Insurance Program, which is critical to maintaining Company Self Insurance Licence.

To enable our evolving Ecosystem, along with our approach to Agile home & delivery teams, you will assist enhancing our existing assurance approach to a risk based assurance program across the Group.

In addition to this you will provide support to the GCA Capability lead in OHS due diligence activities arising from mergers and acquisitions; ensuring newly acquired companies meet Woolworths SH&W expectations, along with fulfilling obligations required under Self Insurance licence.

**What you'll do: - Support, and where required, lead Governance activities including Board and Executive level reporting, with the ability to continually drive improvements to strengthen governance across the ecosystem

  • Lead with support from BU Assurance teams and the Injury care team, the SH&W component of the company self insurance audit program
  • Develop and maintain relationships with OHS regulators across the Country to support self insurance requirements.
  • Manage and oversee OH&S regulatory matters to ensure timely action across the company (ie, improvement notices, enforceable undertakings) Where needed, support the GCA Capability lead in Merger, Acquisition and Integrations and new Business Development, as Woolworths continues to evolves its ecosystem
**What you'll bring: - Knowledge of Safety management systems and their practical implementation as well as a solid understanding of OH&S legal frameworks

  • Strong writing skills required to lead development of governance reports ranging from Board & People committee SH&W reports, deep dives, monthly ExCO reports
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in in developing and deploying assurance programs
  • Experience with Audit specifications standards (e.g. AS/NZ, ISO and NAT) A strong background in complex, fastmoving organisations
