CSIRO plays a leading role in one of the world's largest radio astronomy projects: the SKA, which will be co-hosted by Australia.
The SKA-Low telescope is being built by the SKA Observatory (SKAO) at Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, the CSIRO Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory on Wajarri Yamaji country in Western Australia.
The SKA telescopes will revolutionise our understanding of the Universe and the laws of fundamental physics.CSIRO's Site Entity team manages the observatory on behalf of the nation and is also tasked with the preparation of other facilities to support construction and operation of SKA-Low.
As the Site Entity team's Design Infrastructure Manager, you will work in close association with CSIRO Space and Astronomy management, CSIRO Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS), SKAO and the Australian Government to ensure the operational accommodation requirements of all stakeholders are met, and relevant groups are supported and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
As a key member of the team, you will autonomously lead all the activities associated with the building infrastructure obligations Australia is required to provide the SKAO.
This includes the Science Operations Centre in Perth, Engineering Operations Centre in Geraldton and Boolardy Accommodation Facility in the Murchison.
In this role you will:
- Ensure collaborative relationships with key project stakeholders are developed and maintained.
- Gather and interpret data from SKAO and other relevant users, to translate requirements into business cases and project plans.
- Act as a trusted advisor by building a strong network of relationships.
- Coordinate with the SKAO, the Australian Government and CBIS to procure new, or modify existing infrastructure as required.
- Negotiate the terms for the project with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Be conversant with legal documentation, such as licenses, leases and agreements, and represent CSIRO in discussions.
- Manage relevant professional services subconsultants/contractor.

Salary:
AU$121k to AU$142k pa (pro-rata for part-time) + up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure:
Specified term of 5 years (with possibility of extension)
Full-time, part-time (no less than 30hr/wk) or job-share arrangement will be considered

To be considered you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience in consulting, project management, engineering and/or architecture.
- An understanding of building infrastructure design processes.
- Strong project management skills including experience in endtoend management of small to medium size infrastructure projects.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills demonstrated in a complex, multifaceted environment.
- Experience interpreting client requirements into a business case and subsequent project plan.
- A track record of delivering effective resolutions to complex problems.
