Our client, a federal government agency that looks after Australian foreign policy and relations / trade and investment, is looking to recruit an APS 5/6 Program Support Officer to support their projects across the portfolio.

As an APS 5/6 Program Support Officer, you will be offering administrative and secretarial support for the PMO functions. You will also be coordinating with other Australian public servants in other countries for project status reports and scheduling meetings / writing up minutes and notes etc.

Your other responsibilities will also include, but not be limited to:

  • Handling and managing project documentation and records
  • Supporting colleagues in managing competing priorities in line with team objectives and goals
  • Preparing project-related documents ie. budgets, discussion papers and reports etc.
  • Coordinating information flow between PMO and stakeholders ie. managing email inboxes etc.

This is a great opportunity for a project or program support individual to set foot and develop skills and knowledge in the public sector. The opportunity also allows you to liaise with overseas Australian employees to have a wider contribution to our international relations and trade.

  • Must have either NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance
  • Previous experience in programs / projects support or management role (experience in PMO will be highly regarded)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • High level of internal and external stakeholder interaction skills
  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities and work in a flexible / adaptable manner
  • Outstanding work ethic and skills to drive outcomes and meeting KPIs
