Oriental Merchant **is a leading importer and distributor of authentic Asian groceries, supplying to supermarkets such as Coles, Woolworths and Costco with brands that are familiar throughout the Asia Pacific.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Manager to oversee our Victorian, Adelaide and Tasmanian team of Sales Representatives.


Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Work to achieve revenue targets and KPI's by monitoring sales and designated territories and brands
  • Generate both short and long term sales strategies and guide the Victorian team, as well as management of the Adelaide and Tasmanian team (infrequent travel may be required for SA and TAS)
  • Target potential customers and assess opportunities for sales
  • Analyse competitor activities, keep up to date with industry news and sales trends
  • Oversee and coach sales team with daily sales operations, which includes analysing sales teams performance
  • Network with businesses, identify potential impacts to different sales channels, including mainstream and foodservice
  • Work closely with other departments to develop sales and marketing plans to ensure business growth
  • Other tasks as required from time to time

To Be Successful You Will Need:

  • At least 3 years sales experience ideally in a managerial role within a similar industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in
    both Mandarin, Cantonese and English:
  • Previous experiencing in setting and achieving KPI goals and coaching a team
  • Drivers licence and own vehicle (company offers car allowance)
  • Ability to interpret data, negotiation skills and attention to detail
