About the role:

The Commercial Portfolio Manager plays a pivotal role in Aurizon's Bulk Operations. Reporting to the Bulk Commercial Manager, this position involves supporting various operations, including rail, road, and port logistics.

  • You will collaborate with customers and operational teams to achieve favorable commercial outcomes.
  • Optimize revenue, contracts, and customer relationships to stimulate business growth.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships across all Bulk teams, especially regional operational teams in Queensland (Townsville, Mt Isa, Cloncurry, Rockhampton & Gladstone).
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information in various formats to stakeholders, including customers.
  • Lead the development of business cases in collaboration with Operations, Legal, and Finance teams.
  • Create agreements that provide appropriate incentives for both Aurizon and the customer.
  • Anticipate potential business risks and develop long-term solutions.
  • Obtain internal support for opportunities driving business growth.
  • Conduct commercial negotiations with customers, focusing on contract renewals.
  • Address day-to-day customer issues to meet both customer and Aurizon's objectives.

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in Transfer Pricing/Profit Shifting.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written communication and reporting abilities.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
